Critical Mass 2015 Hits The Streets Of Orlando
What the hell is a Critical Mass you ask? Well it’s simple, fun, and FREE. You grab your bike and meet up with a group of other bike lovers and take over the streets of Orlando. It started in San Francisco as a monthly political protest. Cyclists would reclaim the streets without warning. Now cyclists get together to celebrate their love for bicycles and have fun riding. The event is commonly held to raise awareness and promote the safety of non-motorized modes of transportation.
Critical Mass is scheduled for the last Friday of every month. Orlando’s first Critical Mass of 2015 starts today at 6pm beginning at Loch Haven Park ( 2100 N. Mills Ave. Orlando, Fl. 32803) and ends wherever. Grab your bike and go for a ride around Downtown Orlando. Think of it as an opportunity to get some fresh air and burn some extra calories before you tear up the town this weekend.
This is the first Critical Mass where Orlando Bike Share will be available. If you don’t have your own set of wheels now you can borrow one of their bikes and participate in this community event. All types of non-motorized vehicles are allowed to join in. The rides are pretty easy so if it’s been a while since you’ve been on a bike, have no fear. The pace is easy breezy and the weather will be as well so make sure you dress appropriately tonight.
If riding just isn’t your thing that’s totally fine. A Cycling Critical Mass is a sight worth seeing. SO many individuals with unique and specialized bikes pedaling down the street together. It’s like a parade without the floats. During the holidays they have themed rides so prepare to be entertained or grab a bike and join in on the fun.
