Full Sail Debuts New Digital Entertainment Studio
Full Sail University, Orlando’s high-tech college for all things digital cut the ribbon Friday, March 20th on its brand new digital entertainment studio, and Florida Gov. Rick Scott was on hand to see it happen. The new Digital Entertainment Studio is expected open the door for Full Sail students looking for jobs after graduation within the sunshine state.
“Everything’s happening in Florida. It’s the greatest place in the world to live,” Scott said. “We’ve got a great education system. Full Sail’s a great university.”
The largest content network on YouTube, Maker Studios teamed up with Full Sail University to officially launch a digital entertainment studio that will create up to 24 jobs in 12 months and expand Central Florida as a prime location for production.
REBL HQ, the new digital entertainment studio is a facility that stems from a collaboration with Maker Studio, a company that is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Co. Drew Walkup, vice president of programming for Los Angeles-based Maker Studios, said the company and Full Sail have been in talks about the partnership for more than a year.
REBL HQ Digital Soundstage
The new “REBL HQ” building features a 4.000 Square foot high-tech digital video soundstage that will create professional video content for a variety of platforms, with some help from the students. With Disney World headquarters just down the street, this new addition to the Full Sail curriculum will be the perfect stepping stone for students searching for employment after graduation.
