Orlando City Soccer Stadium Plans Are Getting Revamped
Looks like the Orlando City Soccer Club is going back to the drawing board regarding the NEW Orlando City Soccer Stadium. They have recently submitted an Appearance Approval Amendment that includes more detailed design to the venue’s elevation and spaces. Previous changes have included increasing the capacity from 19,500 seats to 25,500 due to overwhelming fan support. OrlandoSC is putting a lot of PRIDE into the future home of the Lions.
New Upgrades Awaiting Approval For Orlando City Soccer Stadium
According to the documents, the north, east, and west sides of the stadium are generally unchanged from the 2014 ARB approval, but will be adding a parking lot on the west side of the stadium. The south side of the stadium will have the most changes with an increase in seating capacity, a grandstand, and a canopy being added.
More plans include: The view into the pitch from Church St. has been greatly reduced. The digital screen and scoreboard have bee re-located from the Parramore Avenue terminus to the southeast corner of the stadium. Unfortunately for those of us who like a brew or two with our Orlando City Soccer games, the second level bar has been converted to open-air. The new stadium is still scheduled to be complete in time for the 2016 soccer season pending approval of the most recent changes to the stadium.
